Settlement was a major unit that you studied right back in year 10 now and the powerpoints should be able to provide you with some of the basic terms and case studies that you need to know!

LEDC’scities are different to MEDC’s and you need to be aware of these characteristics;
Look below at the ways in which LEDC cities are able to improve themselves- you should have some notes on this in your excercise books;
Glasgow was your UK case study of a city in decline and this powerpoint highlights some of its problems. You should have some notes from the video you watched in class on Glasgow.

The powerpoint below highlights population structure, population pyramids and the demographic transition model;
You will also need to know the two case studies about migration for the exam, one on USA to Mexico migration and one from Poland to UK. There is a powerpoint below on migration and then beneath that there are a number of you tube videos that are on the case study of migration from Poland to UK, enjoy! (At the end of Part 1 just click on The Poles are Coming Part 2) Don’t forget the specifics, e.g. Stamford Stone and Beeches Primary School in Petebrough.
