1. COASTS
The powerpoint below looks at how weathering works and the different types of Physical, Chemical and Biological weathering. REMEMBER WEATHERING AND EROSION DIFFER, WEATHERING HAPPENS ‘IN SITU’ (IN ONE PLACE), EROSION OCCURS WITH SOME KIND OF MOVEMENT (E.G. A WAVE)
All the five powerpoints below cover work you studied on Coasts. Waves are first, remember the terms you learnt like constructive, destructive, fetch, etc.
The PowerPoint below now looks at how waves erode the coast line. In the exam please please please remember to define the different types of coastal erosion that you mention, e.g. The cliff is weakened by Hydraulic Action (this is when the waves compress air into the cracks in the rock and the pressure weakens and enlarges the crack).
The next 2 powerpoints below highlight the different landforms that can be formed from both erosion and deposition. You need to remember the difference between the two as in the exam you may be asked to describe and explain the formation of a depositional feature that you have studied.
The final powepoint covers the idea of coastal management and how it can be managed. Remember that with any form of management the problem of erosion is often stopped in one area but it continues further down the coast somewhere else.
2. CLIMATE
To save time I have just put the main powerpoints down below; have a look and any questions just leave a comment and I can publish it / reply to it as well.
