Earthquakes are very powerful and destructive, they can have a huge impact on a population of an area and it is vital that you have a good understanding of the specifics of the Kobe case study. This is in your notes and some of it is in the poweroint below.
How can humans manage the impact of earthquakes?
There are a number of different ways in which we can try to stop the destruction of earthquakes (some of which are mentioned at the end of the powerpoint above). The two Youtube videos below give good examples of how people are trying to build safer buildings (top video) and educate people (students) about what to do who live in earthquake prone areas.
The one below has a much more relevant 2nd half to it, don’t worry too much about the first half;
