You have studied 3 different case studies of contrasting regions.
1) Italy (EU case study)
2) Brazil (LEDC case study)
3) Japan (MEDC case study)
Remember each case study has 2 regions that are contrasting with each other, one is always more central (what is called the core region) and one is more remote (the periphery). In your exam do try to use words like core and periphery as these are geographical words which the examiners credit!
The powerpoint below highlights what you learnt on Italy – EU CASE STUDY. Remember that there are 2 main regions, the rich north (The North Italian Plain) and the poor south (The Mezzogiorno).
Bazil is a huge country covering over 8 million square kilometers with over 186 million people living there (2008 estimate)! This powerpoint below contains the vital information about the Northern region (including the Amazon TFR) and the popular coastal South East region that you need to know for this case study (LEDC CASE STUDY), remember to learn the specifics!!
The final case study on Japan is your MEDC case study! The powerpoint below mentions some of the differnces between the 2 contrasting regions – Hokkaido region (the island) in the north and the busy populated region of Kanto (this is where Tokyo is).
